Additional Information on Eligibility
This is a "Notice of Intent" of a single source grant agreement award to The World Bank, Indonesia. The grantee for this project was chosen because of unique ability. The World Bank contains well known experts in project development and investment analyses. This will include at least two separate grants to the World Bank Indonesia for technical and analytical services. The two projects are 1) a project to support demand and supply interventions that would lead to reduced stunting, among other indicators, for the poor based on the community development experience gained under the World Bank supported community-development program (PNPM/Generasi), and 2) a project targeted at the vocational education and youth employment sectors, following the earlier World Bank design for the Life Skills Education for Employment and Entrepreneurship Project (LSE 3). The activities to be undertaken build on World Bank-Government of Indonesia joint efforts. The World Bank implements the PNPM Support Fund for the Government of Indonesia and piloted the Generasi program which serves as the basis for the nutrition/community development activity. The World Bank also appraised the youth employment project in June 2010 and has a rich array of data and experience useful in working with the Government to further build the rationale and analytical basis for the proposed youth employment activity. The grantee has a demonstrated track record for completion of projects on time and on budget with excellent quality. The Grantee is uniquely qualified to carry out the terms of this grant in a cost-effective manner.
Grant Description
The objectives of this Grant Agreement are to assist the Government of Indonesia in carrying out further Project design. The project will build on on-going, effective activities already in place in Indonesia, and support the Government of Indonesia to transcribe the proposed Life Skills Education Entrepreneurship and self- Employment LSE-3 project previously developed by MoNE in conjunction with the World Bank into the format and documentation required for the proposed Indonesia Vocational Education/Youth Employment Project under MCC's "Access to Basic Services for Economic Growth" compact theme.
