Wetlands Program Development Grants: 2005 Request for Proposals: Geospatial information is one of many eligible activities. The purpose and special emphasis of this grant program is to provide funding for projects which: 1) strengthen state/tribal comprehensive wetland programs; 2) develop a comprehensive monitoring and assessment program to assess the quantity and condition of wetlands; 3) improve the effectiveness of compensatory mitigation; and 4) refine the protection of vulnerable wetlands and aquatic resources. Development of Habitat Conservation Plans, projects set forth by other federal agencies, or long-term planning projects not connected to near-term implementation are a low priority. EPA requires proposals to explain the environmental results of the grant and make effective use of the grant.
