Wickstrom Bridge Replacement on Whittlesey Creek in the Town of Barksdale: Wickstrom Bridge Replacement on Whittlesey Creek in the Town of Barksdale. A failing bridge which crosses Whittlesey Creek will be replaced. Whittlesey Creek is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service priority brook trout stream. Substantial involvement on the part of the USFWS is anticipated for the successful completion of the activities to be funded. In particular, the USFWS will be responsible for the following. The USFWS through the Ashland FWCO and or Whittlesey Creek NWR will be involved in all steps of planning, site evaluation, design, construction and oversight of this project. This includes recommendations for the new structure, survey assistance, permitting and construction oversight. The USFWS will also coordinate with the Town of Barksdale and other partners to insure the project meets technical standards.
