Widening Harmonized Access to Microfinance: The United States Agency for International Development Mission to Pakistan (USAID/Pakistan) will issue by December 17 an RFA inviting applications from qualified U.S. and Pakistani non-governmental concerns (including non-profit organizations, profit making concerns, etc.) interested in implementing a three year activity, ?Widening Harmonized Access to Microfinance (WHAM)?. Through this RFA, USAID/Pakistan seeks to identify and fund one, and possibly more than one, innovative program to expand outreach of credit services and improve the capacity of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) to support Pakistan?s entrepreneurs and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). USAID will contribute funding in the amount of US$5 million for things such as staff hiring, training, capacity building, marketing, organizational branding, but not capital for lending purposes. There is a minimum cost share requirement of US$10 million in the form of capital for lending operations.
