- The overall intent of this program is to develop partnerships with willing private landowners in order to provide sanctuary for excess wild horses as an alternative to the current practice of long-term pasture facilities. The objective of each eco-sanctuary may vary depending on proposals received from interested applicants or partners. Functions may include, but are not limited to: eco-sanctuaries, eco-sanctuaries with adoption centers, eco-sanctuaries with training centers, or eco-sanctuaries with a combination adoption/training centers. Modification No. 2 provides answers to questions posed by potential applicants and provides an extension of time to submit applications/proposals to June 21, 2011.
