Youth Engagement and Development: The purpose of the agreement modification is to add funding to existing task agreement. The project addresses identified deferred maintenance on the park's historic cabins. The cyclic roofing replacement on the park's historic cabins is in line with Secretary's Priority Goals 8.c.2&3. The park staff will work alongside the Citizens Conservation Corps providing them with technical assistance and teach carpentry and other related trade skills. The work will improve the condition of the park's historic structures and will allow continued visitor use of the cabin camps, keeping in line with Secretary's Priority 1.c. & 5.b. The project will potentially provide employment to veterans. The agreement will be creating jobs in the American economy. The principal purpose of the project is to support the Government's objective to provide opportunities for youth to learn about the environment by spending time working on projects in National Parks. The NPS receives the indirect benefit of completing conservation projects.
