Grant Description
The Office of Citizen Exchanges, Youth Programs Division, of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the "Youth Leadership Program: Diversity, Democracy, Globalization, and Citizenship" in which the participating countries will be Turkey, Germany, and the United States. Public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit proposals to recruit and select 30-40 youth and adult participants overseas and in the United States, to provide the participants with a 25- to 30-day U.S.-based exchange program, and to support follow-on activities for the alumni. The program will be designed to promote high-quality leadership and civic responsibility among future leaders and will enable the Turkish, German, and American participants to explore diversity and the expression of and respect for individual beliefs as citizens in democratic nations.
