Youth Perform Resource Management at Gateway National Recreation Area: THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement.Master Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00031 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and The Student Conservation Association (SCA) to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of our environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land through service opportunities, outdoor skills, and leadership training.This project will engage two Museum Interns and two Restoration Interns in 12-week resource management projects working alongside NPS natural and cultural resource professionals. The museum technician intern will work on cataloging the museum collection at the park, reducing the backlog cataloging. The intern will work with the Museum Curator to accomplish this work. The restoration ecologist interns will work on restoring a degraded ecosystem in the park, improving plant and wildlife communities and providing an improved visitor experience. The interns will work with the park biologist and natural resource specialists.
