Youth Preserve and Protect the Resources of the Carriage Roads: This is a Notice of intent to partner with The Student Conservation Association under existing cooperative agreement. No applications will be accepted. Master Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00031 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and The Student Conservation Association (SCA) to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of our environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land through service opportunities, outdoor skills, and leadership training. This project will engage six Conservation Interns for 13 weeks to participate in hands-on learning opportunities with a variety of skills while working to address deferred and cyclic maintenance on the historic carriage roads at Acadia National Park. The crew will receive training in carriage road maintenance, historic stone masonry, vegetation management, and outdoor safety.
