Department of Energy Awards Over $7 Million to Ten Solar Energy Companies

The U.S. Department of Energy’s 2012 SunShot Incubator Program has awarded individual grants ranging from $403,050 on up to $2,000,000.  The SunShot Incubator Program seeks to lower the cost of solar energy system deployment as part of the SunShot Initiative goal of a 75% reduction in cost by 2019. The application deadline was May 29th of this year. The ten solar companies awarded grants from the DoE were as follows:

  • $2,000,000 to Solar Mosaic of Berkeley, CA
  • $1,275,791 to concept3D of Boulder, CO
  • $1,000,000 to Clean Power Finance of San Francisco, CA
  • $500,000 to Clean Power Finance of San Francisco, CA
  • $500,000 to Distributed Energy Research & Solutions of Brookline, MA
  • $500,000 to Genability of San Francisco, CA
  • $500,000 to Tigo Energy of Los Gatos, CA
  • $499,510 to Simply Civic of Parker, CO
  • $495,040 to Clean Energy Experts of Manhattan Beach, CA
  • $402,050 to Urban Glue of Deephaven, MN
