2005 National Survey of Prosecutors - BJS: The purpose of this award is to provide funding to administer the 2005 National Survey of Prosecutors. The 2005 National Survey of Prosecutors, a biennial series, will collect data on resources, policies, and practices of local prosecutors from a nationally representative sample of 310 prosecutors in State court systems. The survey obtains basic information on staffing and operations and collects data on current topics such as the use of innovative prosecution techniques, felony and misdemeanor caseloads, prosecution of computer related crimes, juvenile offenses, and use of DNA evidence. A draft of the data collection instrument and preliminary list of the approximately 2300 prosecutor districts from which the sample will be drawn will be provided by BJS. BJS anticipates making one award of up to $350,000 for an 12-month period under this solicitation. The funding of this project is subject to the availability of funds.
