Adolescent and Young Adult Health National Resource Center Program: The Health Resources and Services Administration, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Division of Child, Adolescent and Family Health, Adolescent Health Branch is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2014 Adolescent and Young Adult Health National Resource Center (AYAH) Program. The purpose of the AYAH Program is to promote the comprehensive healthy development, health, safety and well-being of adolescents and young adults and address their major health issues by strengthening the capacity of State Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Programs, as well as of public health and clinical health professionals, to better serve these population groups, which range in age from 10 to 25 years. Over the past year, MCHB has been working with its partners to develop and refine a vision for transforming the Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Block Grant in order to better meet current and future challenges facing this country¿s mothers and children, including children and youth with special health care needs. This transformation contains expectations for improved accountability through new performance and structural/process measures spanning the MCH life course, including adolescence and young adulthood, as well as a realignment of the Title V MCH Block Grant to support more directly the needs of State Title V MCH Programs. The AYAH Program is a Special Projects of Regional or National Significance (SPRANS) activity that functions in the environment of the transformed Title V MCH Block Grant Program.
