Area of Interest 3: Field-testing of CO2 Capture and Separation Technologies: NOTE: This descriptive area provides an overview of Area of Interest A only. YOU MUST READ THE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS ON ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, EVALUATION CRITERIA AND HOW TO PREPARE AN APPLICATION UNDER AN AREA OF INTEREST. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to access the Funding Opportunity Announcement. Area of Interest 3 - Field-testing of CO2 Capture and Separation Technologies Applications are sought that will conduct field-testing of oxygen-based combustion and post combustion CO2 capture technologies. The proposed technology must show the potential for performance improvement over conventional MEA absorption technologies through previously conducted R D testing and systems studies. This improvement should provide significant progress toward the previously mentioned Carbon Sequestration Program goals. The applicants shall demonstrate in the technical narrative that laboratory scale research has been completed and the results have been used to perform a detailed systems and economic analysis. Applicants will describe the specific technical data sought under the proposed work and how it fits into their plan for commercialization of the technology. Applications that also propose to use the CO2 from field-testing for subsequent sequestration are preferred, but not required. Details regarding the proposed end use of CO2 shall be used to evaluate its merit.
