Assessment of Asian carp and native fish movement and habitat use in the upper Illinois River watershed to inform Asian carp management: The purpose of this research is to: 1) Identify factors that influence the timing and extent of lateral habitat use by bigheaded carps in the Starved Rock Pool of the Illinois River using acoustic telemetry. 2) Estimate relative abundance of native fishes in the Des Plaines River upstream of BRLD that had previously been in the Illinois or Kankakee Rivers using fin ray microchemistry to assess frequency of native fish movement upstream through BRLD.
