BLM OR/WA Upper/Middle Rogue River Watershed Restoration, Medford District: The Rogue River is the largest producer of Pacific salmon and steelhead in Oregon outside of the Columbia River basin. The Rogue's cold-water tributaries are critical to the health and survival of these ever important runs. Past land management actions and climate change currently threaten these streams through increased sedimentation, higher stream temperatures, and destruction of riparian habitats. The Rogue River and its tributaries are of critical economic importance to local communities and to the state of Oregon.
The BLM is interested in supporting eligible applicants through coordinated stream and riparian projects within the Upper and Middle Rogue River watershed, on public and private lands.
Partial funding for this proposed agreement came from The Drinking Water Providers Partnership, a partnership between the US Forest Service, Environmental Protection Agency, BLM and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. Recipients applied for proposed projects in 2015.
