BLM-WO, WAFWA-AFWA Coordination, Cooperation, and Communication Support: BACKGROUND: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has long-supported the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA) and Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) organizations and their meetings which are annual coordination and communication efforts between Federal, State, and non-governmental (NGO) entities which are actively interested in collaborating on fish and wildlife conservation efforts. Support of these organizations' efforts is essential in order to keep information flowing between partners so that common goals in conservation may be communicated, understood, and accomplished.
OBJECTIVE: Support cooperatively bringing together Federal, State, and NGO natural resource professionals, resource agencies, and conservation organizations to further the purpose of wildlife management and conservation in North America in partnership with fulfilling the state wildlife agency wildlife conservation missions. Fulfill national and state needs for improving communication for management of publically appreciated fish and wildlife.
PUBLIC BENEFIT: Support of information sharing on research, best practices, and management of wildlife and habitat through national collaboration efforts helps land and wildlife management agencies provide the public with enhanced experiences on public lands and continued opportunities to be more informed public stewards of public lands resources for wildlife development and utilization.
