C&O Canal National Historical Park - Vegetation Control and Invas: 1. The Recipient shall carry out the Statement of Work in accordance with the terms and conditions stated herein. The Recipient shall adhere to Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes, as applicable.1. Provide all labor required to provide general maintenance, vegetation/small tree removal and to execute this agreement to its full requirements. 2. Provide four (4) crews led by the Recipient working within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park (Park). Each crew is required to be comprised of one (1) crew leader and two (2) crew members. One (1) crew will report directly to the Palisades maintenance shop (Potomac, MD); three (3) crews will report directly to the Williamsport maintenance shop (Williamsport, MD). All crews are required to support in any/all maintenance related needs and to perform routine preventative maintenance on historic stone culverts and locks throughout the year. The crew leaders will work for 52 weeks starting June 1, 2019 – May 31, 2020, the crew members will work for 15 weeks after the start date, June 1, 2019 – through approximately September 15, 2019. The crew is not authorized to work in the Park without a Recipient supervisor present at all times unless the Park grants authorization to do so. Work shall be performed during regular NPS working hours 7am - 3:30pm Monday – Friday. Work on Federal Holidays or weekends is prohibited. The Recipient crews are required to follow the non-essential personnel procedures during Park closures or inclement weather conditions. Once underway, the work shall be executed in a single continuous phase. 4. Perform the following type of work in the Park:a. Work shall not commence until all crew members have completed all the required training for this project. I.E chainsaw training, first aid/CPR (NPS provided).b. Supplement NPS maintenance staff to perform routine daily maintenance within the park. i.e. vegetation removal, grass cutting, trash clean up, preventative maintenance activities, etc. c. Remove small trees, shrubs, brush, and/ or vegetation from the area around, on, and within 20 feet of historic stone culverts, locks, flumes, abutments, walls and any other historic stone structure within the park boundaries that the NPS deems the need for vegetation removal. All tree removal must be coordinated with and approved by the NPS liaison prior to commencing work.d. Operate Government furnished equipment such as mowers, small equipment, towing trailers, vehicles, etc.
