CAM Approaches in the Management of HIV Disease and Its Complications (R01): -Purpose. This FOA solicits applications proposing research on complementary interventions that are frequently used and hypothesized to be effective in the management of HIV disease and the complications associated with antiretroviral therapy (ART). -Mechanism of Support. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will utilize the R01 grant mechanism. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Total funds available in each FY for the new awards are approximately $2 million. It is anticipated that up to four new R01 awards will be made in each FY. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
