Carbon Storage Assurance Facility Enterprise (CarbonSAFE) Phase II - Storage Complex Feasibility: This Funding Opportunity Announcement will accelerate wide-scale deployment of carbon captureand storage by potentially awarding additional projects to support the CarbonSAFE Initiative,DOE's flagship effort to move carbon storage technologies into geographically widespreadcommercial practice.CarbonSAFE Phase II prjoects will define and assess a carbon storage complex throughdata collection, geologic analysis, identification of contractual and regulatory requirementsand development of plans to satisfy them, subsurface modeling to support geologic characterization,risk assessment and monitoring, and public engagement. In addition, Phase II projects will complete a rigorous feasibility study for both technical and economic viability.Modification 000002 is to extend the application due date, clarify language, revise the number of awards, award size, and maximum federal share, and amend appendices.
