Centers of Excellence in Cancer Communication Research II (CECCR II) (P50): -The National Cancer Institute (NCI) invites grant applications for Centers of Excellence in Cancer Communication Research (CECCR) Program. The CECCR Program is designed to promote interdisciplinary research in the area of cancer communication with the purpose of contributing directly to positive health outcomes and quality of life for individuals. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is an open competition for all eligible applicants. -In this FOA, a special emphasis is placed on the patient-centered communications (defined by the Institute of Medicine as providing care that is & responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values) needed to improve health and quality of life outcomes across the Cancer Care Continuum. A minimum of one research project in each application (and in any resulting award) must be directly relevant to clinical settings. -This FOA uses the NIH specialized center grant (P50) mechanism.
