Co-Occurring Mental Illness, Alcohol and/or Drug Abuse and Medical Conditions (R01): -Purpose. The NIDA, NIAAA, and the NIMH invite research grant applications to services research on co-occurring mental illness, alcohol and/or drug abuse, and commonly co-occurring medical conditions. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism, but applications under the NIH Small Research Grant Program (R03) and the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Program (R21) are also sought. Applicants for the R03 should respond to PA-06-180 and applicants for the R21 should respond to PA-06-181. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
