Combating Wildlife Trafficking in Southeast Asia: INL/EA seeks to build upon civilian law enforcement capabilities to combat wildlife crime in Southeast Asia, and authorities’ ability to respond to poaching and wildlife trafficking by (1) strengthening legislative and regulatory frameworks, (2) building investigative and enforcement capacity, and (3) enhance prosecutorial and judicial capacity. Applicants may encompass any or all of these targets. The primary countries of engagement may include: Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Laos PDR, and Malaysia; multinational or regional activities that foster transnational cooperation may benefit Burma and Cambodia. Applicants are encourage to select at least two countries for participation and effort should be made to implement activities in underserved areas where poaching is occurring and on trafficking routes.
