Consulate Cup Model UN Competition: Model UN (MUN) programs are growing in popularity and many events are being organized in schools, colleges, and universities each year in India. These events offer a unique platform to bring together the next generation of leaders from across India to discuss regional and global issues. While many talented Indian students compete internationally, its likelier that they will meet fellow students from other countries than those from neighboring states within India. We propose holding a Consulate Cup MUN tournament in Mumbai, drawing together leading MUN delegates from Mumbai and four Tier 2 cities, ideally Ahmedabad, Indore, Pune, and Raipur. In order to identify delegates from Tier 2 cities, the grantee will be responsible for organizing and executing, including all logistical and administrative arrangements, a MUN tournament in each of those four cities. The program will provide young leaders from the western region in India with an interactive learning experience and skills development in foreign policy research, negotiating texts, drafting resolutions, public speaking, problem solving, and debating. Target audiences should include, but are not limited to, high school and college/university students interested in foreign policy and world affairs. Youth should come from a variety of Indian academic institutions. The U.S. Consulate General Mumbai will approve the final list of participants. The project should use traditional media, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms as amplifiers. (Please see full announcement for more details)
