Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Lakes Northern Forests CESU: The US Geological Surveyâ¿¿s National Wildlife Health Center (USGS- NWHC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to assist with a project on the potential effects of climate change and wildlife health. Physical changes brought about by climate change are drought, melting of arctic sea ice and permafrost, rising sea levels, ocean acidification and warming, and an increase in the intensity of weather events such as hurricanes, intense localized rainfall events, and flooding. The USGS NWHC has been tasked with providing a synthesis of recent published literature on climate change and wildlife health and organizing and conducting a workshop on this subject in the spring of 2019. The workshop is intended for federal, state, and tribal wildlife researchers and managers as well as CESU partner scientists.
