Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Lakes Northern Forests CESU: The US Geological survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU parnter to develop a suite of methods appropriate for mapping dreissenid mussels, other species of interest, and physical habitats in high resolution for expanded use in monitoring and targeted research. The cooperator should be highly capable to: (A) advise on methods to collect and handle echosounder data; (A) test analytical models that predict dreissenid abundances from the echosounder data; (B) develop and test analytical models to classify bottom substrates; and (C) contribute to development of software to automatically recognize mussels in underwater images;
