Cross-Disciplinary Translational Research at NIH (R01): -Purpose. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to foster research that furthers the translation of existing knowledge into treatment and treatment practice, or research that, in and of itself, will readily translate to clinical research or practice. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism and runs in parallel with FOAs of identical scientific scope, PA-06-321 and PA-06-322, that solicit applications under the Exploratory/Developmental (R21) and the Small Research (R03) grant mechanisms, respectively. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards.
