Engaging Communities In Stewardship: This Grant is to continue to engage local communities surrounding refuge lands in interpretative events, and volunteer stewardship activities to build public understanding of the purposes and value of habitat conservation on San Diego National Wildlife refuge and other conserved lands near urban areas. By finding opportunities for urban residents to find, appreciate and care for nearby nature, the Service and our partners raise awareness of the Serviceâ¿¿s mission and Urban Wildlife refuges, and other conserved lands and open spaces.
