Establishing Exploratory NCMHD Research Centers of Excellence (P20): -Eligible applicants are invited to establish exploratory NCMHD research centers of excellence. -Depending on availability of funds, NCMHD estimates awarding 17.6 million dollars or more. -Depending on the number of meritorious applications, NCMHD estimates making 13 or more awards at direct costs of up to $950,000 per year. In addition, Facilities and Administrative (F and A or indirect) costs will be provided at the applicant's negotiated rates. Facilities and Administrative costs requested by consortium participants are not included in the direct cost limitation (see NOT-OD-05-004).

Additional Information on Eligibility: Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply. Faith-based or community-based organizations can apply. This competition is open to all eligible institutions, including eligible past and current recipients of NCMHD Project EXPORT awards (P60, P20, and R24s) funded in 2002, 2003, or 2004. NCMHD Project EXPORT grantees funded in FY 2005 are not eligible to participate in this competition. Institutions may only hold, as the lead institution, a single NCMHD P20 award of any kind. Institutions holding a Research Infrastructure In Minority Institutions (RIMI) grant may apply but the RIMI grant must be terminated prior to making an NCMHD research center award. Current NCMHD Project EXPORT (P20s) grantees will have an existing center of excellence award terminated before an award is made under this RFA. See full anouncement for further details.
