Evaluating Strategic Weed Management to Reduce Pesticide Use and Improve Effectiveness on F.E. Warren Air Force Base: Evaluate the efficacy of targeted grazing by small ruminants (sheep or goats) in reducing Dalmatian toadflax and other weeds while enhancing condition of desirable vegetation.
â¿¢ Compare effects of targeted grazing to chemical weed control and to approaches integrating grazing and herbicides.
â¿¢ Assess the relationships between pre-treatment vegetation condition to post-treatment vegetation response to identify potential management thresholds for Dalmatian toadflax in a transitional northern mixed grass prairie ecosystem.
â¿¢ Evaluate reintroduction of desirable species within the framework of a strategic weed management program to augment species diversity for wildlife habitat.
