F23AS00303 Science in the Service Internship Funding Opportunity: Background: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is soliciting proposals for administrative support for the Science in the Service Fellowship. The Science in the Service Fellowship is one of the Service's most successful and diverse internship programs. Fellowships are available to any program in the Pacific Southwest Region and are structured to provide 640 hours of work. Science in the Service alumni are eligible for the Public Lands Corps hiring authority and receive multiple tiers of regional support and training throughout their fellowship.Program Requirements: All proposals must clearly address how the organization will recruit and support 6 or more paid fellowships each year. The proposal must address the following questions:What are the strategies and tools that will be used to outreach to and recruit diverse candidates?What are the screening processes used for evaluating candidates for eligibility? Candidates must be screened for Public Lands Corps eligibility.How are selected candidates supported during the onboarding process through the completion of the fellowship?What is your organization's ability to operate under dynamic timelines, particularly when there is a short-timeline for hiring actions or geographically-limited recruitment of diverse candidates?How does your organization collect and responsibly safeguard applicant information? Application portals and databases must be compliant with Service policies.In addition, the proposal should describe how the organization intends to host recruitment events and how it will coordinate with the Service on career development opportunities.
