FY 2004 OVC Faith-Based Counseling for Crime Victims in Indian Country: This solicitation invites applicants to plan and implement an innovative 2-year program to improve the delivery of faith-based counseling services to victims by establishing or improving links between faith-based organizations, spiritual leaders, traditional healers and victim service programs in American Indian and Alaskan Native communities. The purpose is to support the provision of faith-based counseling services to victims of crime and to support the creation of collaborative models for local victim assistance programs. Efforts should be made for counseling services to be available for all victims, regardless of faith. OVC is interested in projects that address the needs of unserved and under served victims, particularly those victimized by crimes such as child abuse, sexual assault, homicide, elder abuse, driving with intoxicated and gang violence.
