Geospatial Analytics for the Fire Management Offices of the National Capital, Northeast, and Southeast Regions of the National Park Service: The National Park Service Fire Programs of the Southeast, Northeast and National Capital Regions have amassed Geospatial data of wildfire origins and extent, as well as fuels treatment perimeters. This project will focus on using these data to create performance metrics, by investigating the utility of the data to address management needs. Additional questions, to those outlined (see Project Task, below), may arise as these data are analyzed and combined with other datasets and model outputs. Examples of other datasets include but are not limited to Fire Regime Condition Class, StarFIRE and Estimated Value Acres Burned.
