Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program: The Hualapai Tribe provides information on religious and cultural values to the GCDAMP for
consideration in dam operations and activities in the Grand Canyon that may affect their cultural and historical resources. The Hualapai Tribe is the only entity that can provide this information because it is unique to their cultural and mostly unknown to outside sources. Since 1994 the Hualapai Tribes' participation in the GCDAMP has been essential to ensuring that the tribal values are represented at the various program functions and to ensure effective government-to-government consultation of federal undertakings that may affect resources.
This award is comprised of four programs: 1) Tribal participation in the GCDAMP; 2) Long Term Experimental Management Plan (LTEMP); 3) Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK); and 4) Long Term Monitoring (LTM). This transaction will add to the budget $95,000.00 to fund the TEK program through the end of 2016. The TEK program was included in the scope of work for fiscal years 2013 & 2014, and is extended to include 2016.
