Golden Eagle Decline - Industry Threats: This announcement is the full announcement. The purpose of the agreement is to provide financial assistance to a qualified investigator to conduct surveys for active golden eagle nests in western North Dakota, as well as data on the productivity of active nests, to compare with productivity data from 2004. The survey data will allow the updating of current information on the geographical extent, specific locations, and numbers of active golden eagle nests in the state, and to provide trend information on nest productivity. This information is vital to Ecological Services' ability to advise other federal agencies, state agencies, and the public on the potential impacts of their activities on golden eagles, a trust resource of the Fish & Wildlife Service.
