Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers: Special Interest Project Competitive Supplements (SIPS) (U48): The purpose of the Prevention Research Centers (PRC) program's Special Interest Projects (SIPS) is to support supplemental projects in health promotion and disease prevention research that: (1) focus on the major causes of death and disability, with an emphasis on underserved and minority populations (2) improve public health practice through community-based participatory research, and (3) designs, tests, disseminates, or translates effective public health programs at the state and community level. One of the major focuses of this supplemental funding program is to design, test, and disseminate effective prevention research strategies.
