Historic Landscape Management Program partnership with GGNPC: The primary purpose of this task agreement is for GGNPC to provide assistance to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (the park), including Fort Point National Historic Site and Muir Woods National Monument, in the management of its extensive system of historic landscapes, including: documentation of character-defining features and historic significance; assessment of the effects of park and partner projects on those historic landscapes as required by the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); and project management of restoration and rehabilitation projects within historic landscapes.
By partnering with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (the Conservancy), the park is provided with unique resources, including support from staff with extensive knowledge of and experience with cultural resources and, specifically, historic landscapes.
