Improving Fiscal Transparency and the EITI Standard in Tajikistan: The United States Embassy Dushanbe announces a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to help the Government of Tajikistan strengthen and systematize its reporting on beneficial ownership – a key recommendation from the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). This project will support the Government of Tajikistan's goal to sustain its EITI membership and increase the country's fiscal transparency. The beneficial ownership report should give Tajik citizens a clear sense of who is profiting from the country's natural resources, as well as where and how the natural resource revenues are collected. An NGO would be responsible for implementing the grant in coordination with the Ministry of Finance's EITI Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG). The main goal of the project is to strengthen and systematize government reporting on beneficial ownership in Tajikistan for implementation of requirement 2.5 of the EITI Standard.
