Improving Surveillance and Prevention of Epilepsy Burden in US Communities: The purpose of this FOA is to use standardized definitions and methods to assess epilepsy burden to expand the knowledge of: 1) the prevalence and/or incidence of epilepsy among various U.S. populations or subpopulations, and 2) risk factors or other determinants that affect epilepsy incidence, prevalence or other epilepsy outcomes to guide interventions or services aimed at prevention, treatment, or rehabilitation that, if implemented, would minimize health disparities in people with epilepsy.
