Improving the Overseas Detection and Preventing the Importation of Communicable Infectious Diseases, including Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, among U.S.-Bound Refugees: The purpose of the program is to assist non-governmental health-care organizations in establishing and implementing systems to detect, prevent and control communicable infectious diseases, including seasonal influenza, highly pathogenic avian influenza, pandemic influenza and other infectious respiratory diseases in camps with U.S.-bound refugees or among refugees under consideration for resettlement to the United States.
