Increasing Signage Nationwide-Joint Initiative: UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (U.S. DOT)National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)Cooperative Agreement for: Increasing SIGNAGE Nationwide-Joint InitiativeAGENCY: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).ACTION: Letter of Invitation (LOI) of a Request for Applications (RFA) to develop and test a model for fixed seat belt signs to enhance the perception of increased enforcement and to impact seat belt use. Two (2) awards will be made.SUMMARY: The objective of this Cooperative Agreement is to develop and test a model for fixed seat belt signs to enhance the perception of increased enforcement and to impact seat belt use. The project will address the following questions: 1) Does enforcement based road signage change the motorists' perception of what is being enforced by law enforcement? and 2) Does an enforcement based message road sign paired with high visibility enforcement have a greater effect on seat belt use than high visibility enforcement alone?DATES: Application(s) must be submitted by email to the following address: [email protected] or mailed via FedEx to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Office of Acquisition Management (NPO-320); Attention: Vincent Lynch, 1200 New Jersey Ave, S.E., Room W53-409, Washington, D.C. 20590.
