Interpreting Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail Themes at Fort Mifflin: This announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to award financial assistance for the following project activities without competition. Specifically, FMOD agrees to: 1. Implement public programming highlighting the impact of the French alliance during the American Revolution, and French influences on the design and defense of Fort Mifflin, the maritime attack and siege of Yorktown, and exploring the nature of siege warfare relative to Yorktown and Fort Mifflin. FMOD's interpretive programming will provoke dialogue about the nature and implications of complex international military alliances. 2. Research General Rochambeau's 1777 visit to Fort Mifflin, and French influences at Fort Mifflin with particular attention to French military engineers. Present research to the public through interpretive living history programs, social media, digital newsletters and blog posts. 3. Create an area in the permanent exhibit space at Fort Mifflin focusing on the impact of the French alliance in the American Revolution, French influences in the design and defense of Fort Mifflin, and similarities and differences between the siege and bombardment of Fort Mifflin and the Yorktown Campaign. 4. Create a standards-based education program highlighting General Rochambeau's visit to the fort and meetings among French and American Officers, French influences in the design, construction and defense of Fort Mifflin and relating the design and engineering of fortifications to the concept of siege warfare, relative to the Yorktown and Philadelphia campaigns. 5. Produce print materials supporting interpretation of Fort Mifflin as a central point along WARO and including French influences in Fort Mifflin's design and defense. 6. Include WARO logo on FMOD's website and print material produced during CA period. 7. Make Fort Mifflin facilities available for the WARO PowerPoint slide show, train FMOD staff to effectively deliver the PowerPoint slide show, and make Fort Mifflin available for other WARO NHT public presentations and meetings. 8. Prominently display WARO brochures, and exhibit WARO interpretive panels in FMOD dedicated indoor space. 9. Make FMOD staff available to support WARO events in the greater Philadelphia region. 10. Report visitation, newsletter and social media statistics related to all FMOD-WARO interpretive programs covered by this agreement. 11. Provide table space for WARO and NPS to promote their own programs and sites at all public Fort Mifflin living history programs.
