Inventorying and Monitoring Natural Resources Status and Trends in the National Park System: The Geologic Resources Inventory (GRI) Program provides funding to numerous entities to produce necessary maps for the National Park System and, through this cooperative agreement, provides geologic data to park resource managers and the public via both the GRI website and the NPS Integrated Resource Management Applications (IRMA) portal. These sources provide the public, and particularly academia, ready access to these maps and reports for research or education. The Geologic Resources Inventory delivers to parks and makes available to the general public 1) summaries of on-site, geologic-themed scoping meetings 2) a digital geologic map in a Geographic Information System and 3) a comprehensive geologic report.
