Limited Competition for the Continuation of the Look AHEAD (Action for Health in Diabetes) Study (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed): This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is a limited competition FOA inviting cooperative agreement (U01) applications from investigators currently participating in the Look AHEAD (Action for Health in Diabetes) Consortium. The purpose of this limited competition will be to allow an additional 5-year follow-up period of all currently enrolled participants. The goals of the Action for Health in Diabetes Extension (Look AHEAD-E) study are to examine the long-term effects of an intensive lifestyle intervention designed to produce weight loss on health, function, and healthcare utilization.
