Lower American River Restoration Prioritzation and Monitoring SAC water forum: The present Notice of Funding Opportunity is being awarded for the continued research and development of a multi-stakeholder, structured decision making (SDM) model, which will be used for future management of the natural resources, and for restoration of anadromous fish populations, of the lower American River. As part of the research component of the activities to be funded under the present award, the Water Forum will continue, until completion, research pursuing the genetics and otolith microchemistry of juvenile Chinook salmon from which critical information on the movement and rearing patterns will be obtained. Information obtained from this research, and previously funded research, will then be used for the continued development and completion of the SDM model that will later serve as a decision-support tool to assist in the prioritization of future restoration and resource management projects. Funding awarded under the present notice will be provided to the Water Forum without competition as a complement to a previous award, thereby allowing for the continuation and completion of research activities previously funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service). This award is made under the authority of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (Title 34, Public Law 102- 575).
