MDMA: Research Areas Needing More Emphasis (R03): -This FOA is designed to increase the scope of NIDA s MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) research portfolio, in order to provide an optimally comprehensive, strategic, and balanced MDMA research program. Clinical and preclinical research is needed. -This FOA will use the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) award mechanism and runs in parallel with an FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-06-525, that solicits applications under the R21 mechanism and PA-04-152 that solicits applications under the R01 mechanism. -The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
