Malaria Control in Mainland Tanzania -Training and Communication Support to the National Malaria Control Programme for the Infant and Equity Vouchers: The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to enable USAID/Tanzania to obtain training and supervision, and communication support for the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of Mainland Tanzania in its implementation of the Tanzania National Voucher Scheme (TNVS), specifically for the infant voucher (IV) and equity voucher (EV). All proposed goals, objectives and activities are to be done under the direction and with full collaboration of the NMCP as described in the Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI) Tanzania Malaria Operation Plan (MOP) which is posted on the world wide web at http://www.fightingmalaria.gov/countries/tanzania_mop-fy07.pdf. The implementing mechanism will be a competitively awarded cooperative agreement with a locally-represented NGO (or consortium of NGOs) to manage this activity. Subject to availability of funds, and satisfactory completion of the activities in this RFA, the Cooperative Agreement may be extended to include additional time and related activities. Because of the need for continuation of training and supervision services as a part of the TNVS, the successful applicant is expected to start functioning by September 2007.
