Materials Solicitation with focus on Structural Materials, Blanket First Walls, and Divertor Plasma Facing Components: Materials Solicitation with focus on Structural Materials, Blanket First Walls, and Divertor Plasma Facing Components The Office of Fusion Energy Sciences (FES), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), hereby announces their interest in receiving Grant applications from single or multi-institution teams to the Materials area of fusion energy sciences, specifically structural materials, blankets, and plasma facing components. The FES Materials portfolio focuses on the development, testing, joining, and modeling/simulations of metals, alloys, coatings, and composites that are appropriate for various locations in the fusion environment. The specific areas of interest under this FOA are: 1. Structural materials 2. Blanket first-wall materials (both liquid and solid) 3.
