Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Diamond-Blackfan Anemia and Other Congenital Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes: The goal of this initiative is to encourage research into the genetics and basic mechanisms of Diamond-Blackfan Anemia and other rare inherited bone marrow failure syndromes that have received little attention from the research community. Applications are sought that propose innovative research approaches to understand the molecular pathways disrupted in these syndromes. The bone marrow failure syndromes covered by this initiative include: Diamond-Blackfan anemia, dyskeratosis congenita, Pearson syndrome, severe congenital neutropenia (Kostmann syndrome), Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, and congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia.
