Mycology Research Units: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) invites applications for program project (P01) grants to conduct interdisciplinary research to increase understanding of the biology and host-pathogen interactions of the medically important fungi. This fundamental knowledge will be applied to the development of new and improved strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of the mycoses. Therefore, the proposed research must be focused on the identification and validation of targets for the development of diagnostics, vaccines or therapeutics directed against systemic mycotic infections, leading to but not including clinical trials.
