NIAID Competing Supplements (Revisions) for B Cell Immunology and HIV-1 Neutralizing Antibody Projects (R01): -The purpose of this Funding Opportunity announcement (FOA) is to notify NIAID R01 grantees of the opportunity to apply for one year competitive supplements (hereafter referred to as revisions ---see page 1-21 section 2.8 of the SF424 (R and R) Application and Electronic Submission Instructions Version 2) for projects that apply advances in B cell immunology to the problem of antiviral humoral immunity and the induction of neutralizing antibodies in anti-HIV-1 vaccine development. NIAID intends to commit approximately $1.5 million in FY 2007 and expects to make 9 to 12 revision awards. There is a direct cost limit of $100,000 per application. For purposes of continuity, NIAID also intends to publish a FY 2008 FOA on the same research topic. -This funding opportunity will use the NIH R01 Revision award mechanism to supplement currently funded NIAID R01 awardees. -Eligible institutions or organizations are current NIAID R01 awardees.
